Abortion Doula Accompaniment
As your abortion doula, I provide evidence-based, somatically informed, and nurturing support and advocacy to you and your partner(s) before, during, and after abortion. I am based in Berlin, and often available virtually.
We seek and have abortions for many different reasons. As an abortion doula, I am prepared and trained to hold space for any and all of those experiences. Having experienced an abortion myself I am honored to be able to provide accompaniment that can often be hard to find: education, comfort, affirmation, and advocacy before, during, or after abortion.
I have been practicing as a doula for over a decade and am honored to accompany diverse family structures, immigrant, multi-cultural, queer, and neurodivergent abortion seeking people and their families.
I am trauma-aware, somatically informed, culturally curious, and particularly competent at accompanying folks post medical/relational/childhood trauma. I am happy to walk with people who are seeking or have had abortions at all stages of their abortion experience.
As an abortion doula, I offer:
Before
Education and Guidance: I will help you understand legal and medical options so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
Somatic Support: I offer bodywork, breathwork, touch, and movement sessions to help you prepare emotionally and physically.
Logistical Preparation: I can assist with home preparation, meal prepping, care-team coordination, journaling, and guided meditation.
During
Physical and Emotional Support: Whether your abortion takes place at home or in a clinic, I will be there to provide presence, reassurance, and practical care.
Comfort Measures: I can bring soothing elements like music, warm meals, hot water bottles, tea, and additional comfort items to help you feel as at ease as possible.
Coordination with your care team
Directly After
24/7 Virtual Support: I offer continuous virtual support for 48 hours after your procedure, ensuring you have someone to turn to.
In-Person Visit: A few days after your procedure, I can visit with a meal and check in on how you’re feeling.
Experience Documentation: If it feels meaningful to you, I can support you in documenting your experience through writing or other creative methods.
Closing Ceremony: I offer a personalized ritual incorporating touch, massage, journaling, and intention-setting to help bring closure in a way that feels right for you.
Processing your experience (months or years later)
Virtual Support: I offer virtual support (within normal waking hours) after your procedure for as long as we agree to work together, ensuring you have someone to turn to with any waves of emotion, memory, or physiological sensations.
In-Person Visits: I can meet you in your space, walk in a park with ice cream, or any location within in Berlin. We can schedule these meetings one at a time or regularly, depending on your short and long-term needs/goals. In these meetings we will decide together what would be the most helpful for you:
Do you just need to process the experience with an active and informed listener?
Do you need help brainstorming or role-playing ways to have a hard conversation with a loved one or advocating for your needs at work, home, or elsewhere?
I can also simply offer resources/evidence-based physiological knowledge for any questions or concerns you have about the medical procedure, your changing body, or your varied emotional experiences.
I can also provide a body-work/fascia touch session.
Experience Documentation: If it feels meaningful to you, I can support you in documenting your experience through writing or other creative methods. And support in various ways to share your experience either with intimate relationships or more outwardly if that is something that you think would be needed, healing, or helpful for you.
Closing Ceremony: I offer a personalized ritual incorporating touch, massage, journaling, and intention-setting to help bring closure in a way that feels right for you. For example in some ceremonies we spend time writing a letter of closure, forming a physical object to bury, “closing the bones” with cloth to encourage your body to physically close what had been opened due to pregnancy.
Partner Involvement:
I am primarily your Doula, however, if you would like or need your partner to participate in our experiences together I am happy to offer any and all of these with your partner present. It is important, however, that they want to participate. If we encounter a situation where you want them more involved than they are willing to be we can brainstorm ways to move through that and resources that your partner can access if or when they want to be more involved in your pre, current or post-abortion processing.
Abortion Story-Sharing Circles
Storytelling is powerful! I am glad to offer this closed, private circle space for people with lived experience of abortion in Berlin. This particular circle is only for people who have physiologically experienced pregnancy and abortion. This is a queer-affirming space where gender-euphoric language will be honored. Our primary language will be English with time and space for translation. The circle will consist of a short introduction round and a guided somatic impulse followed by story-sharing and listening. We will close with another somatic practice. Light snacks will be provided. Small donations will be gratefully accepted. Collaboration is always welcome. Big gratitude to Frauenzentrum Schokoladenfabrik e. V. for hosting us. You can find more detailed information here.

I am a native English speaker and still learning German. I am from the US and have supported many families from many different language and cultural experiences. I also have experience working in German birth-houses and hospitals and ha e not yet experienced a scenario where I was unable to serve my purpose as a doula. I am comfortable and confident in my ability to work with families and medical practitioners from many culture and language backgrounds, I am not comfortable or able to function as a language translator or go-between. I, of course, do everything in my power to facilitate communication and understanding, I just do not feel equipped to translate medical explanations and would never speak on a laboring persons behalf.

Into my doula accompaniment I bring with me my proficiency in movement, anatomy, and somatic facilitation; let’s dance, let’s shake, let’s practice moving through the birth you want! As a trained fascia touch practitioner I bring the ability to support your pregnancy and labor with touch and internal perception. As someone who uses herbal medicine I bring herbal perineal steams, herb infused compresses, scents, and teas to support your pregnancy, labor and birth. As a multi-ethnic person I bring the ability to hold space for many expressions, traditions, and practices and am happy to participate in, facilitate, and advocate for any rituals, practices, or prayers you would like incorporated into your pregnancy and labor.

Pregnancy, loss, and abortion are profoundly transformative experiences. A sense of grief and experiences of loss can arise from many sensations or events along your pregnancy journey. Some experience loss of bodily autonomy or gender-dysphoria, some grieve previous ideas of themselves or their relationships, some experience miscarriage or unwanted abortion, and for some of us previous traumas or wounds arise even in the midst of autonomy, choice, and consent. I am able and honored to walk with you and offer support and tools around any and all experiences of grief, loss, or dis-ease, and am dedicated to de-stigmatizing our diverse emotions around pregnancy and pregnancy release journeys.
