Prepare for birth through your body.

An intimate, 2-day somatic birth preparation course for pregnant people and their partners.

Move Into Birth brings together birth physiology, movement, breath, touch, sound, partnered work, and practical preparation — creating space to learn about birth while experiencing possibilities through your own body.

Created and led by doulas Sarah Entwistle and Cristina Leoni-Osion of the Somatic Birth Collective, Move Into Birth is for people who want more than a conventional antenatal class: a thoughtful, experiential, and deeply personal way to prepare for the complexity of birth.

What we explore:

You will learn about the physiology of labour and the pathways birth can take, while also having time to move, breathe, make sound, receive and offer touch, experiment with positions, work with your partner and notice what feels useful to you.

Across the workshop, we explore:

  • Physiology and stages of labour

  • Movement and positions for labour and birth

  • Breath and Vocalisation tools

  • Touch, counter-pressure and partner support

  • Relaxation and hypnobirthing practices

  • Exploring fears and affirmations

  • Consent and choice

  • The role of the partner

  • Induction and medical interventions

  • Caesarean birth and changing circumstances

  • Preparation for different birth settings

  • Developing practical tools you can return to during labour

Know about birth & practice how you can meet it

What happens when you change position?

What helps you stay connected to your breath?

How might sound alter your experience of intensity?

What kind of touch feels supportive?

How can your partner participate with confidence?

What might help you communicate when circumstances change?

These questions become practices you can draw from when birth actually arrives.

You don’t need to be planning a particular kind of birth to benefit from this practice.

Your registration includes:

  • two facilitated four-hour sessions

  • comprehensive birth physiology and education

  • practical preparation for vaginal and caesarean birth

  • movement, breath, sound and touch practices

  • partner practices and support techniques

  • relaxation and hypnobirthing practices

  • an editable birth plan

  • a guided recording for practice at home

  • a physical practice booklet with movement, breath, sound and partner prompts

  • access to our community between sessions

Your facilitators:

Move Into Birth course is taught by Sarah Entwistle and Cristina Leoni-Osion, whose practices pull from various disciplines but meet around a shared interest in the body, perception, care and change.

Vocalization, Breath-work, Massage, Movement, Hypnobirthing, Intimacy practices,   and more.

Why add somatics to your birth preparation?

  • Nervous‑system first

    • Learn simple vagal‑tone practices—breath, humming, gentle rocking—that shift you into parasympathetic safety on demand. These pocketable tools reduce fear‑reactivity so labor moves with less tension and more progress.

  • Body‑led movement & pelvic mapping

    • Hands‑on movement patterns and pelvic mapping teach you how to create space and encourage optimal fetal rotation. Practical movement cues you can use in pregnancy and labor for greater comfort and smoother descent.

  • Partner‑ready support techniques

    • Short, reliable partner cues—hand placement, voice tone, rhythm, and oxytocin‑boosting touch—give partners clear roles that increase safety, connection, and natural pain relief during birth.
