tidal bodies : reproductive somatics - Berlin

  • Park Studio 42 Am Treptower Park Berlin, BE, 12435 Germany (map)

You are invited to a somatic community care practice centered around reproductive experiences (abortion, menopause, pregnancy, menstruation, etc.). We will imagine or re-imagine how we can approach, share, and somatically engage with our personal and collective reproductive stories. Situated marginally, and often outside of legality, the reproductive justice movement is built on imaginative and collective community practices. I/We will expand on these practices by offering and collecting somatic-based practices and documenting and archiving how individuals and communities use these speculative structures to nurture and sustain spaces for community care and movement building presently and into an uncertain future.

This workshop will consist of a short introduction round followed by guided somatic impulses with an optional partnered touch, and ending with story-sharing and a community dream and scheme session. We will close with another somatic practice. At the end of the workshop, there will be an option to record or share your story/experience as an addition to a digital zine. Gender-euphoric language will be honored throughout. Light snacks will be provided. Donations will be gratefully accepted. Collaboration is always welcome. Space is limited, we will reach out to confirm your registration confirmation.

These workshops will be co-facilitated by Cristina Leoni-Osion and Maddi Fuente Ubani. Cristina is a practicing full-spectrum doula, somatic practitioner, and movement artist centering queer and marginalized reproductive experiences. Maddi is a Basque bodyworker, movement facilitator, and creator who focuses her work from a woman’s perspective.

All backgrounds, genders, abilities, and experiences are welcome.

Registration is free, please fill out the form here.
